The 16th-20th of September saw a week-long timetable of fashion shows from some of the greatest and most prestigious clothing designers. From Gucci to Givenchy, everybody was obsessing over this year’s London Fashion Week.
So I’ve done a little research into this autumn/winter’s top eye wear trends, from cat eye to geek chic. Take a look below at some of my top picks of this season’s trends, and see who is already rocking them!
Mirrored sunglasses
One of the noted trends for the upcoming A/W seasons is mirrored sunglasses. These have been a strong element toward the end of the summer months, but are continuing to hold their own throughout the colder seasons.
I love how Hayden Panettiere has paired these coloured mirrored frames with a plain black feminine jacket. The sporty vibe of the glasses is a great contrast to her girly look. A perfect A/W look in my eyes, if you’ll pardon the pun! Check out this pair of mirrored Sun 27 sunglasses by Dunlop if you want to emulate this style.
Chunky black frames
Chunky black frames were predicted before LFW to be a strong trend for A/W, and that prediction wasn’t wrong. The thick and bold look are perfect to match the chunky knits that surface during the colder weather, and also look great paired with a winter hat.
Kendell Jenner, as you can see above has already made this fashion forward statement, with her choice of an oval sunglasses frame. These would be a great look with a leather biker jacket and oversized scarf. Get the look with this pair of VW243 Vera Wang sunglasses.
Pastel geek-chic
The last of my top looks to come out of this year’s LFW is a pastel-hued take on geek-chic. Still offering an oversized frame and staying true to the trend, this year the geek-chic look plays around with dainty patterns and softer colours.
Gigi Hadid demonstrates exactly that with her choice of pastel lilac frames, which look great when worn with darker colours like blacks and navy. These would be fabulous with a white woollen duster coat too, check out the awesome pastel pink Imogen glasses by baseline from Tesco Opticians!
So although all these big names are setting the trends for A/W eyewear, that doesn’t mean to say you can’t too. Use this as inspiration and why not head to Tesco Opticians to see the high-street and designer styles they have on offer! They are the home of stylish sunglasses and prescription glasses.
Oh and before that, maybe it’s about time for an update on your prescription too, I know I’m due one, to book a free eye test, head here!
