We recently spent the weekend at Paradise Lodges near York. We booked via Booking.com and paid £300 for 2 nights for 2 adults and 2 children in a lake view lodge with a hot tub. Paradise Lodges are located near Storwood which is just South of York. We found them without any issues, using the postcode YO424TD. The park consists of a selection of wooden lodges with hot tubs and glamping pods.
We arrived on the Friday evening around 6pm, the park ask that you call in advance if arriving after 6pm so they can make arrangements for your check after staff have finished for the day. We called and they said they were happy to wait around to greet us.
Check in was quick and easy and staff were very friendly and helpful. It is worth noting there is a £200 damages deposit to be paid when you check in. This is refundable after check out, although it did take a full week for the pending payment to be released back to us.
I was really impressed with the lodge we were allocated. We were in Lodge 10, the furthest away from the reception building, with a fairly private hot tub.
The hot tub was on the decking at the side of the lodge so not over looked by the the other lodges. There was plenty of space around the lodge and there was also a wooden table and chairs on the decking area.
The lodge had a lovely view over the fishing lake, with lots of green open space in front of each of the lodges.
The lodge was the perfect size for our family of four, The seating area had two small comfy, leather sofas with a small table behind to eat meals on. There was a decent sized tv and electric fire. We had anticipated that it would be chilly due to the weather but the lodge was toasty warm during our stay.
The kitchen area had an oven, microwave and dishwasher, plenty of utensils and even a bottle of washing up liquid.
There was a double room with double bed, vanity area and en suite bathroom with a sink, toilet and bath ( no shower).
The second bedroom had two single beds and plenty of storage space. We all found the beds and pillows clean and comfortable. There were clean, soft towels left on each of the beds for us too.
There was also a main bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. The shower was fairly powerful but did take a little while to get to a comfortable temperature.
The lodge was fairly clean but we did have to give the oven top and benches a rub down before we used them and we found a random teaspoon with jam on underneath the edge of one of the beds.
We were all really impressed with the hot tub. It looks like quite a new one and the kids loved the jets that squirted water. It was also much bigger than we’d expected.
Breakfast on the decking was lovely. The enigma of early morning awakenings isn’t so bad when you have such a peaceful and relaxing setting to wake up it.
My youngest loved the fact there were so many ducks and birds around. He enjoyed feeding them and watching them gather round the lodge.
He was kindly sent the clothing featured in this post from Lighthouse Clothing.
There’s a nice little walk around the park, with some activities dotted around like giant Connect 4 and some extra large chequers.
There’s also a small wooden play area and swing behind the reception area which the boys enjoyed playing on.
The woodland around the park is very pretty and it’s nice for a short wander. There isn’t a great deal nearby though, so you’ll likely need a car if you’re planning any day trips while you’re there.
We made the most of a lazy weekend and spent most of Saturday in the hot tub, before a leisurely walk around the grounds.

There are two fishing lakes onsite ( one in front of the lodges and the other on in front of the pods) which can only be used by guests of the holiday park. There is a daily charge to fish and you must also have a fishing licence.
We enjoyed our stay at Paradise Lodges. The kids loved the grounds of the park and the hot tub. The lodge was perfectly adequate for a few nights away. The only thing we didn’t like was the 9am check out on the Sunday!
