Gifts for Younger Children

Gifts for Younger Children

This post includes press samples sent free of charge to consider for inclusion in my gift guide.

The choice of toys for toddlers is so vast. There are so many things to chose from on the high street and online that it’s easy to get lost down a rabbit hole, it doesn’t help that toddlers are so fickle and their ‘favourites’ changed every three minutes.

I’ve put together a selection of gifts that I think would make brilliant gifts toddlers and younger children this Christmas.

Dino Ranch is such a lovely little TV series for pre school children. There is a range of toys from the show, including both human and dinosaur characters. The Min and Clover Care Cart vehicle set is a robust set which fans of Dino Ranch will love. The young dino doctor-in-training, Min, and her dino best friend, Clover, the big-hearted and slightly clumsy brontosaurus make the perfect pair. Clover helps Min by pulling the ‘care cart.’ The cart includes a chest where your child can store all sorts of treasures and is lots of fun to open and close.

The Dantoy bioplastic greenhouse kit is such a lovely toy for younger children.  It contains 18 durable pieces that are great for role play and encourages imagination. It’s best suited for children 2 years and upwards and is nice and chunky for small hands.

The set is made using 90% sugar cane which is grown in controlled, pesticide-free plantations in central and southern Brazil. Bioplastic, made from sugar cane, is a 100% sustainable and 100% recyclable raw material. It’s also dishwasher safe which I love, it means the toy can be played with outdoors and then cleaned easily before coming back inside.

Every single Mizzie product was designed specifically to help Children learn through play. The Mizzie products are aimed at stimulating the senses, developing fine motor skills, teaching cause and effect and encouraging the love of reading and singing.

There are a lovely range of Mizzie products available including this Musical Hop Out Mizzie. Mizzie jumps out to ‘Pop goes the weasel’ and is a lovely product to help increase fine motor skills, encourage curiosity and discovery and is lovely for sensory play and listen to music.

If you’re buying for a child who loves to constructing things, the Mag Hub Magnetic Tiles are brilliant. They’re suitable for children aged 3 and up and I know my 8 year old will love them just as much as my youngest.

The tiles are great for hand-eye coordination, motor skills, colour recognition, counting, creative thinking and problem solving. They’re also very well priced so great as a budget buy.

The Number Blocks set is a lovely educational gift for children aged three and above. It has 8 fun activities to encourage learning number facts. It includes an interactive cube, 10 Number blocks and a storage bag for number blocks. It’s a fun interactive toy but also a brilliant way to encourage pre school learning.

I love Blade&Rose leggings, particularly their festive ones. They’re perfect for Christmas day and would make a gorgeous gift for a younger child. They’re all made using high-quality fabric and wash really well. They’re lovely and comfortable over cloth bums too as they have lots of stretch.

Bing fan? Then this cute Biteysaurus Bing would be a great gift idea. He is suitable for 10 months and upwards and wears  green pyjamas, a removable mask and slippers to look like his toy dinosaur, Biteysaurus. Bing says makes a range of sounds and phrases from the Bing TV show when you press his hand and he’s super soft and colourful. Bing is a lovely toy to stimulate a child’s imagination and is brilliant for imaginary and interactive play.

Zuma’s Rescue truck is a must have for any Paw Patrol fan.  Geared up in his orange Big Truck Pups uniform complete with trucker hat and backpack, Zuma is ready to roll out on some exciting highway rescue missions. The set includes the transforming vehicle and a Zuma figure.

The Imaginext Rescue City Fire Station playset and vehicle set would make a lovely gift for younger children, particularly those who are fans of the emergency services. It is very well priced and well made. It is packed with action, including a moveable ladder, trap doors, spinning fireman’s pole and a hose that sprays “water” projectiles. The set also includes 2 figures, 6 rescue mission accessories and a push-along rescue car vehicle with cool lights and siren sounds!

These lovely bath time products from Mini U are so sweet and will make fab stoking fillers. The bath crayons are plastic free and mess free. They won’t stain skin or the bath and wash away with very little effort when you’re finished playing.

Totally plastic-free and mess-free, these crayons won’t stain their skin or the bath, easily washing away when bath time is over. They come in a pack of 6 different colours and are suitable for vegans and are soy, dairy and gluten free.

The Fizzy Plops are brilliant. They add a little bit of colour to your bath. You do need to add a couple if you want a noticeable colour change but they’re gentle on young skin and have a pleasant, soapy scent.

Magicube magnetic blocks are amazing toys. My 3 year old plays with the ones he has most days. They’re great for building, counting and colour recognition. The Little World set contains wheels which my three year old absolutely loves. They’re a lovely addition to an already great toy.

These blocks are made from recycled plastic and have magnets inside so they can clip together easily. The set has a combination of cubes, pyramids and half cylinders along with two sets of wheels which also snap onto the blocks via the magnets.

I hope some of these ideas have given you some inspiration of you’re still looking for gift ideas this Christmas.
