If you have ever been in the unfortunate position of moving house before, you know exactly how tough it can be. You need to organize movers, transportation, packing, cleaning the house and the house you’re moving to plus a number of other things during this time that never seem to end. In most cases you’ll also be juggling work and or children.
This just makes the entire moving process much harder. It’s a stressful time, but with the right planning it doesn’t have to be. It can be easier to move to a new place especially if you are totally ready to do it. So, if you want to make this time of your life easier rather than harder here’s how to do it.
1. Create a plan. As with anything in life it can always help to have a plan to follow. A plan to call a removal company to get quotes. A plan to contact StorageArea to find out how much it will cost to store your belongings. The sooner you begin to plan and you create a schedule around that plan the much better you will feel and the smoother the move will be. Don’t leave all of the packing to the week before you go, because beginning weeks in advance is going to make your life a lot easier. You could also commit to scheduling one box to pack per day per room. When your moving day arrives you won’t have to stay overnight and all through the day just to get packed.
2. Stay focused on your move. You really do have to focus when it comes to moving because you have a limited time frame in which to get everything done. Not only do you have to pack for the moving van but you have to pack for the storage company. You also have to consider how much time you spend procrastinating as you pack. For example, when you come across your children’s baby clothes or the photo albums that you had from your first family holiday. If you have plenty of time, this isn’t often a problem, but if your move is on a tighter deadline then you really do need to make sure that you stay focused where you can.
3. Don’t forget to buy labels. You need to make sure that you are labeling all of your moving boxes so that you can get them into the right rooms the moment you get into the new house. Labels are going to be your saving grace when you are moving to a new home, and if you do buy them then you know your future well. Adding labels to your possessions can save you so much time and it’s going to help you to know exactly what every single box contains.
4. Hire the movers. It doesn’t matter whether you have moved before by yourself and it certainly doesn’t matter whether you have moved many times before by yourself, hire the movers this time. You do not need to do this by yourself and hiring the right mover can make the entire process easy as pie. Not only do they have the experience of moving people, they know how to make sure that the whole thing is efficient.
