Feel Good Playlist for Spring Time

The days feel longer, there’s (some) sunshine, I don’t have the heating cranked up full and sometimes, I even leave my coat at home! There’s light at the end of the very cold tunnel and I’ve seen a glimmer of Spring on its way.

I promise you, the songs below will cheer you up and make you want to get out into the garden. All you need is some amazing technology to listen to it on and you’re ready to go.

Katrina and the Waves

Let’s start with a cheesy one! First released in 1985 and then again in 1996, Walking on Sunshine is used is so many films and TV adverts. It’s so catchy and uplifting and everyone knows the words.

Len – Steal my Sunshine

I’m yet to meet a person who isn’t encapsulated by the cheerfulness and bounce this song has. I love it. It’s the perfect tune to start a Spring day.

Pharrel Williams – Happy

Another song that I guarantee will bring a smile to your face. I love the lyrics and the video is amazing. There’s something about seeing people let themselves go and have fun.

The Kinks – Sunny Afternoon

Sunny Afternoon is the epitome of cool and makes me think of picnics in the sunshine, laying back looking at the clouds and generally just loving life. I love The Kinks.

ELO – Mr Blue Sky

This song reminds me of my Mother and day trips out in the car. We’d take trips all over the UK as soon as there was a glimmer of sunshine.

Fun – We are Young

A bit modern for my usual taste but this song is so catchy. It feels like a bit of a modern day anthem for the warmer months. The perfect BBQ song.

Jackie Wilson – Higher and Higher

Can you believe this song is 50 years old!? Another golden oldie which I love to listen to in the car.

Oasis – Cigarettes and Alcohol

I’m an indie chick through and through and I blooming love Oasis. It spent 35 weeks in the chart and has the infamous ‘sunshinnnnnne’ lyric in the chorus.

“You could wait for a lifetime
To spend your days in the sunshine
You might as well do the white line
Cos when it comes on top”

The Knife – Heartbeats

Not only does this make me think of warmer days, my little man loved listening to it when I was pregnant. Randomly whenever I played it he used to wiggle about and go a little crazy.

The Libertines – Don’t Look Back into the Sun

Whatever happened to the Libertines? It’s 20 years since they made their debut. The song is about learning to forget and move on from the past and it’s such a fab song to sing along too. ]

Do there you go, some great songs to add to your Spring playlist.
