E:ON Go Online Tariff – What can you save?

E:ON recently asked me to use their website to have a look at their range of energy tariffs they offer, in they hope they could save us some money.

E.ON’s tariffs aren’t “one size fits all’. Unlike other energy suppliers, they have a range of tariffs that are tailor-made for you. Whether it’s a Cap and Track, a 2 Year Fixed or the Go Online deal, E:ON have an energy tariff that should meet your needs.

With our current energy supplier, we pay between £88 and £116 each month by Direct Debit. We have a three bedroom semi and there’s three of us living in the house. The monthly cost fluctuates over the year, depending on the season and their prediction of our monthly usage. We try our best to save energy where we can, turning off lights and appliances and using energy efficient products but that monthly Direct Debit payment is still pretty hefty. We probably don’t review our energy suppliers as often as we should, I usually leave the checking to Hubby who worked for an energy company for quite a long time.

Clearly that was my first mistake!

Compared to the Ofgem national average, switching to an E:ON tariff could save each customer up to £200 a year. £200 a year is a lot of money so I’ll admit I was a little sceptical as I thought we were on a reasonable deal already.

However, after spending around ten minutes inputting my usage details from my last bill, I found we could make a whopping saving of £284.76 a year! That is more than a monthly mortgage payment for us!

£284.76 would pay for a short break family break for us. We could book up for a few nights in a hotel and enjoy a Christmas market or maybe book a cottage in February to celebrate the little mans birthday. Either way, it’s a fabulous saving and I wish we’d made the move to E:ON sooner!

As well as myself, E:ON asked a range of other bloggers to get a quote for their energy supply and what they’d spend any savings on, some of the savings were enough for a flight to Spain or perhaps a new haircut!

Changing energy suppliers really isn’t a big deal. You can do everything from the comfort of your own home and nothing will change for you, other than your bills will be cheaper! There’s no disruption to your energy supply and no heating engineers attending your home.

If you were able to make a saving on your energy bill, what would you spend the money on?

Wow, that is a big saving. I’d definitely use the money to go towards a break away with the family. I bet you’re glad you did the comparison now. Mich x
