5 Unique Holiday Ideas

I don’t know about you, but we love to get off the beaten track and chose a holiday that’s a little bit different and unique.

Here are five ideas for a unique holiday experience around the world –

A ride on the Orient Express

I would absolutely love a trip on the Orient Express. Being swept away with the razzmatazz and glamour on a grand tour through Europe sounds amazing. I love travelling by train and the thought of a luxury carriage, fine dining and a steward to ensure I’m happy seems like the perfect holiday.

A Opera Experience in Italy

If you love Opera, you could try a holiday that incorporates opera trips. Whether a seasoned opera travel enthusiast or someone looking for their first trip, a small group trip to Italy to learn more about classic Italian opera seems like such a unique and interesting trip.

Swim with pigs in the Bahamas

I’ve been absolutely obsessed with Luxe Family 5 on Insta Stories recently. They’re travelling round the world with their three children and have visited some amazing places. They swam with pigs in the Bahamas and I’ve become a little bit obsessed with it. The pigs live on an uninhabited island called Big Major Cay or Pig Beach as it’s more affectionately known. The pigs will swim up to visitors boats, especially if you take them a tasty treat.

See the North Lights in Iceland

Hubby and I have actually been to Iceland and were lucky enough to see the Aurora Borealis which were completely breathtaking. Iceland is full of unique experiences and definitely one for your bucket list. If you’re lucky you might see the Northern Lights but if you miss out, don’t worry, there are still plenty of other things to see and do.  You can hop on a small, sturdy, Icelandic horse, and enjoy a relaxing ride across the frozen lava fields, past mountains, lakes, and moors. It’s great for even the inexperienced rider. Fancy something a little more relaxing? The Blue Lagoon Iceland Geothermal Spa is somewhere you must visit if in Iceland, especially if it’s snowing! Having your body submerged in 39 degree water and your head in a blizzard is something you’ll never forget!

Stay in a Castle

What about a stay in a real, fairytale castle?

There are some amazing castles that you can actually spend the night in, in Europe. Popular with celebrities, Dracula and ghosts, I’ve always wanted to stay in a real castle and pretend to be a princess!

Have you been on any special or unique holidays?
