Review – MUA Undress Your Skin Illuminating Foundation
My skin at the moment is horrendous. It actually feels weird. I have dry patches, oily patches and spotty bits! Sounds lovely doesn’t it!? It looks as good as it sounds.
These people who tell you, you get a pregnancy glow – lie! My skin looks worse than it ever has, and my usual foundation just seems to lie on top of my skin, looking patchy. I decided to have a look around for a temporary fix, something that wasn’t going to cost the earth, but may make my face look a little acceptable.
Surprisingly the foundation is only available in three shades : – Porcelain, beige and golden and costs the bargain sum of £5. I picked mine up from Superdrug. I have used a few other MUA products and have been impressed, so I had nothing to loose really.
Naturally I have very pale skin, even more so during pregnancy, so I chose the porcelain shade.
As this costs £5, I wasn’t expecting the same coverage or finish as something that costs 5 times the price, but I was pleasantly surprised.
A little goes a very long way with the foundation. I found a tiny blob enough to easily cover my face. I did have to use primer to get an even coverage but the finished effect was pretty good. It had quite a matt look, but covered imperfections easily and went well underneath my powder. I found it a little more oily that my usual foundation, but at the moment, that’s a good point for me. My skin feels super dry and has an odd texture, hence the reason I think my usual foundation refuses to blend and just lies on top looking awful.
I have no problems with this lasting all day for work, but I’m not sure how it would work on a night out. I do find it creases a little around my eyes, but maybe that’s just another sign I’m getting old!
Overall I think it’s an impressive foundation for the bargain sum of £5 and it makes my pregnancy ravaged skin look a little more socially acceptable.
You can pick this up in Superdrug or purchase it direct from MUA online.
I have this too and I was impressed for the money. Totally agree they need more colours though, 3 shades?! Are they serious?! Talk about limiting your customers!
