The Stainless Steel Earth Pan by Ozeri

The Stainless Steel Earth Pan by Ozeri

I was asked if I’d like to review the the stainless steel earth pan by Ozeri. I say I, technically it’s my hubby who is trying it out. He’s the chef in the house. I have a dabble but it’s much easier to let him cook, and safer!
I was sent the 10 inch which retails for £29.99 on Amazon. The pan arrived boxed up and well protected so not to scratch the non stick coating. The pan is available in three different sizes (8, 10 and 12 inches) I’d say the 10 inch was the size of an average frying pan.
The pan is made from the highest quality stainless steel, with a heat resistant stainless steel handle and it was also the hardest thing to photograph so I apologise for the awful pictures.
The Stainless Steel Earth Pan is made with a 100% PFOA-Free Non-Stick Coating which was developed in the USA. Conventional pans achieve their non-stick performance by using PFOA (PerFluoroOctanoic Acid), which has been considered a ‘persistent pollutant of the environment’ so really they’re not too good to use.
The design is simple. I like the shiny finish but I do find that it’s a fingerprint and streak magnet. It’s impossible to wash it and put it away without it being covered in marks.
With it’s non-stick properties the Stainless Steel Earth Pan Earth Pan allows you to cook with as little as half the amount of oil normally used meaning it’s a much healthier pan to use, and as I’m always on a diet, it can’t be bad!
The pan comes with a bright green protector which you place inside the pan whilst stacking it with others so to prevent any damage to the non stick coating.

Specifications –

  • Features ETERNA, the world’s longest lasting 100% PFOA-free non-stick coating developed in the USA.
  • Scratch-resistant coating allows for super easy cleaning, while remaining free of PFOA – a harmful chemical often found in traditional cookware.
  • Eco-friendly pan delivers unprecedented non-stick performance without utilizing controversial perfluorinated chemicals.
  • Made of the highest quality 18/8 stainless steel with TriPly construction and a polished mirror exterior.
  • Boasts a comfortable heat-resistant stainless-steel handle reinforced to the pan via 3 solid rivets, and a magnetized base for use with rapid heat transfer induction stoves.
We’ve been using this pan most days for the last week and we’ve had no issues. The first thing we tried was fried eggs with a great result. The eggs cooked quickly and easily, with no burning or sticking (my eggs usually end up brown and in bits where I’ve scraped it off the bottom of the pan). We’ve also used it for steaks, I was massively impressed with the way the steaks cooked, we actually managed medium rare! It was a pleasant change as our usual pans just aren’t good enough to cook a steak well.
It cleans really easily too. There’s no need for scrubbing. I’ve found that it it’s submerged in soapy water for a few minutes any left over food simply wipes off with a food.
Overall I’m impressed with the pan. It’s easy to use, causes no sticking and you really don’t need to use much oil. It’s a healthy addition to my pan collection and I think I’ll invest in the 12 inch version too. I wish there was the option to buy a set of the pans.

The worst thing about pans is when they don't clean easily… I have the Jamie Oliver pans and they're really good, they don't take any cleaning the stuff just wipes straight off! Will definitely be looking out for this brand though
