Doris & Co are a Somerset based company who make beautiful cream ware pottery and other home ware items. They use traditional, old fashioned methods of manufacture, using the in-glaze method which makes products resilient and dishwasher proof, which is rather reassuring, given my butter fingers!
Their product shapes and designs are based on Georgian or Early Industrial shapes and feature pretty illustrations with quirky and heart warming messages and sayings,
I was kindly sent two products from their range, the first one being the Enough is as good as a feast jug which features a beautiful hedgerow scene of blackberries, elderberries and rose hips.
The image reminds me of Enid Blyton books and males me think of fairies and elves hiding in the hedgerow. The jug it seems pretty sturdy and robust, with a chunky handle enabling a tight grip. The jug could be used for cold homemade lemonade in the summer or mulled wine in the winter, the uses are endless, but, it like me you’d rather use it as a decorative item, then it looks great filled with flowers, adding to the shabby chic look I have going on in our dining room.
The jug is quite wide and tall enough to be the perfect place to display flowers. I intend to use mine to put flowers in as we always seem to a have a vase shortage in this house.
I love the jug, it fits in with the decor in my dining room perfectly and I think it’s the perfect excuse to have fresh flowers in the house.
As well as the jug, Doris & Co kindly sent me a Holdfast tea towel, which will come in very handy during the Christmas Dinner festivities.
If you purchase one of Doris & Co’s products you can choose to have it gift wrapped when it’s delivered for just £3,95, taking away the stress and reducing the chances of wrestling with the Selotape.
