Unique ideas for your garden

We’ve decided that 2018 will be the year of the garden. The house is very close to being finished so the next step is to make the garden exactly how we want it.

Last year we paid someone to come and tidy it up, take our a million bushes and lay us some decking, but we still need to make some changes. I have a list as long as my arm for things I’d like to include, but here are some of my favourites.

A water fountain

I’ve always wanted a fountain in the garden. I love the idea of sitting in the garden, enjoying the peace and quiet with just the sound of trickling water in the background. Outdoor Fountain Pros have some amazing ones and lots of advice if you’re planning to buy.

A pond

I’ve wanted a pond in the garden since I was a child. I love the idea of fish swimming round and beautiful plants and shrubs growing near it. Now the little man is older and less likely to fall in, I think a pond is definitely a possibility for the garden.

A greenhouse

Having tried and failed miserably to grow vegetables in a patch, I’d love a green house in the garden. I love the idea of being able to use home grown fruit and vegetables in our family meals. My grandparents had a greenhouse when I was younger and I always found it a lovely place to spend time and I learnt so many things about how things grow.

Bug hotel

The little man is obsessed with bugs and wildlife so would love to include a bug hotel in the garden. We have a couple of shop bought smaller ones that hang on the fence but he’d love a home made one like we’ve seen at some of our local National Trust properties. I’m not a huge fan of creepy crawlies but the little man loves looking for them and learning about them so I think he’d be very happy.

Do you have anything a little bit different in your garden?
