Introducing our little man – Eli. He’s finally here.
He was born on Thursday 6th February at 12:03 by caesarean section, weighing 8lb and 4ozs.
Eli and I both came home after 48 painstaking hours in the hospital. Having to spend two days in hospital is without a doubt the worst part of the birth. It was so hot, noisy and busy.
Eli was fine from birth from birth, though I was a little ill during my surgery. My blood pressure dropped and it took quite a while to come back up in recovery, so we sent quite a lot of time there before we could be sent back to the ward.
The hospital found my Hemoglobin levels were low so when we were discharged I was given iron tablets to take.
I was also given 5 days worth of Clexane injections to self administer at home (horrendous and so painful).
My husband is off work for two weeks now, so we are spending lots of lazy days getting to know our beautiful son.
It’s such an amazing feeling to have our baby at home and learning about him. He loves to be cuddled and lie on my chest, hates his nappy to be changed, and doesn’t like being naked.
He’s the most perfect thing me and my husband have ever done.
Massive congratulations!!
